On Addiction

Being addicted to something is not about what you are doing per se, but why you're doing what you do all the time. The why you are doing what you do has more to do with your *behaviour* Because if you want to eat lots of *junk foods* That's great. But why do you want to eat lots of junk foods  when you know it's not *healthy* . That's where the real problem is. Contentment

Do we know that being alive alone is very precious than all the things we have in this world? I spent many years thinking what I had and enjoyed as young man and a little boy was not enough. I was always thinking if I could walk perfectly, then my life would be so much complete. I'm bullied a lot, I look weird and quirky to a lot of people because I walk in a funny slow way, much like a crab. (Smiles). Everything else will be fine with my life if I can just walk straight like everybody else I always thought to myself. I spent more than half of my childhood in hospitals so  trust me, I saw more of these things and questioned many things I didn't understand at the time as well. Then my whole view on appreciating life and valuing contentment changed when I first went to live in the hospital. I would usually see people brought in and rushed to the emergency ward fighting for their life after a car accident on the road. As I lay in the general ward of a government hospital, the

Trust

Many of us today did  trust in other people blindly  so much that we never thought they will do us any wrong or betray us, but they did. They took advantage of our naivety and our complete believe in them to control and manipulate us into getting what they want from us, after that,  they left us alone in the cold. All because we trusted them.We were naive to trust in the wrong people. Period! On the other hand, we were the ones people trusted so much and yet we let them down and disappointed them. To their suprise, they may have been expecting the disappointment and the betrayal to come from a complete stranger they don't know, but it came from us. We all at one point in our lives have been victims and offenders in this game of trust. It is better to tell a bitter truth to a person you love so he can cope in difficult situation in life and be self reliant and independent in all things than to tell a sweet lie that will cause someone to depend on you or trust you completely b

You Are A Warrior

Things may be looking dull for you at this moment in your life Time may seem to pass you by. It may seem that friends and family have abandoned you because you are not as valuable or important as you used to be. But never give up and never give way to sadness nor  sorrows for it will drown you and kill everything positive left in you. You are alive today and not dead, you are a warrior, you have another chance at fighting your battles again. Never lose hope. Give faith a chance. Trust in your heart that you will succeed again as long as you are not dead. You are a warrior!!!!!! Gratitude

Be grateful for the little achievements you make even though you have achieved so much already. It is tempting to be arrogant and ungrateful to your own self and the people who contributed to your greatness. Because after all, you worked very hard for all of it. Right?? But still  let  every achievement no matter how big or small continue to be as though the most precious thing in your heart and in your eyes. Count your blessings, little or small. You will realise how lucky you are to have what you have. # *Gratitude* # *Countyourblessings* Kwame Sarpong |  Freelance Writer:  Nyansa365  e: nyansa365@gmail.com | w: nyansa365.blogspot.com  m: +233205832364 | p: +233205832364 f: Otumfour Kwame Sarpong t: @kwamesarpong25 inst: iamotumfour L: Kwame Sarpong

The law of Cause and Effect

Open your mind to understand the universal laws of cause and effect Which we call *Karma* The world may be unfair to you today because you treated someone else unfairly yesterday You took someone's joy away from her and she has never known joy and happiness again only sorrows You buried the truth deep beneath the ground so that the innocent and the vulnerable continue to suffer Your evil reward follows you ahead swiftly On the other hand,  out of the little you had you gave cheerfully You have sacrificed selflessly for others to gain freedom You have fed the hungry and clothed the naked You have cared for the sick and the aged You have continued your good works. And  so will your rewards follow you as you go. Our world is programmed by laws of actions and consequences. Whatever you sow here you shall reap  before your end. If you sow evil you shall reap evil not good. If you sow  a good deed you shall reap on your good deed. Never forget this law called *Karma* *(The

Building a Resilient Mind

Hold yourself responsible to higher standards  than anybody else expects you to be after you have been through so much pain. Never pity yourself, never look down on your own self  and never entertain negative thoughts either, not even as a joke.   For as we have all come to know, you are exactly what you think you are. No matter how discouraging life may be for you, never say you can't do something or try anything... for everything we see in this world today was once thought to be impossible to do, but today, we can all see it  is done. Until you try again and again, you will never know how strong you are or how far you can go in your life. What's your excuse in giving up?? Learn to build a strong wall of positivity around your negative mind by believing and saying: it is possible, I can do it!!!! Helping Others Grow

Never discourage anyone who continuously fights to make progress in their life. The realisation and acceptance they have seen alone that they need to change a bad lifestyle, a bad habit or a bad attitude into a good or positive one is in itself the first big progress. So be happy to see them making that strong efforts to succeed and make that important change happen in their life. Above every difficult challenge, situation or circumstance going on in their lives right now, they have decided to change something in their life for the better. So let us not ridicule them or anyone who has consciously decided to go on this path. Let us not react sarcastically to their pain and the many mistakes they may make going on this difficult journey of self change. The least we can do to help and support them is to encourage and guide them along this good but difficult path they have chosen, and not discourage or destroy them with negative words and actions. If not for anything at all, let us

The secret of Life

Place value in your own life than in your wealth, possessions or the materials things the world offers. Do not  make the mistake of valuing your £ 2.3 million Ferrari for example,  to that of your life. Because the car will not be by your bedside at the ICU when you are down with stroke and feeling numb nor comfort your daughter when she's struggling with depression and drug overdose. Place value in being honest, selfless, having integrity and the fear of God in your heart as a human. These universal principles which has stood the test of time of every human race since the world began, may not mean much to our generation today. But it will be these values and principles that will judge our purpose for being here on earth. If your mansions, cars or fame were of any value to your life, it will disappear along with you when you die but it won't. Yes! Work hard, meet your goals and be successful but do not do so at the expense of your own life. Life has been much simpler t

About Your Work or Business

Before you start any work or any project you are interested in; Always ask yourself these questions first; Why am I doing it?? What will the end result be?? How much of knowledge, experience or expertise do I bring?? Will I be successful or am I likely to fail and why Examine yourself really well and critically think through these questions. If you do have or find good answers for them, go ahead and do it excellently to the best of your ability always. There is no point in getting up every morning at 5 or 6 am and go to work if your work does not really mean anything to you at the end of the day.  Likewise, there is no point in earning a million dollar salary or profits,  if you do not make an impact in your work or business Whether you are  an entrepreneur, a teacher, a banker, a nurse or a doctor, a lawyer, a mechanic or a pastor or whatever profession you are into, strive for excellence and strive to make an impact too. The excellence you attach to your job or the business

Sex For Grades

The Story of Jessica "Fierce" Osei University of Ghana Business School Monday 7:45 am My heart is beating faster and faster as I keep climbing up the stairs to my first lecture as a first year student at the School of Business. I rush to sit down close to a handful of new students like myself who were busy talking about tales of University and Campus life their siblings had already shared with them at home. I resort to minding my own business and sit  quietly awaiting the Economics Professor to walk in so lectures can finally begin. I was so excited, I just couldn't wait for my first lecture to begin. Finally, your dreams have come true Jessie. Look at you sitting in this big hall waiting to have your first lecture in a few minutes. Congratulations Jessie. You made it!!! I thought to myself happily. 8:00am... and a man walks in to the centre of the hall. Full beard, trimmed and nicely kept, he was fair in complexion and seemed like a cultured and respected man.  Goo

Faith

My prayer.... I have faith in everything  I do. Because I believe everything will work out fine in the end. People may say I'm crazy for continuing to do and believe in something that brings no reward. Yes, the reward may take long in coming but I won't still give up. Big dreams, big ideas look small to a smaller mind. That is why they continue to discourage me. I refuse to give up I have been told several times that I can't do this and I can't do that, i can't try this and I can't try that. Those are only opinions of people who are discouraging me because they fear I might fail miserably if I try doing what I love doing. Should I also give up on myself because people are expressing their worries and concerns?? No! Not now and never. I rather prefer to try and fail big and learn from my mistakes than to sit down and bite my nails in fear and not try at all. My faith is like the mustard seed, no matter how small or hard my beginning maybe, I still have f
