The Twist and Turns of Life

When I was 16, I wrote many action plans in my diary. I remember telling my friends I will become a billionaire by age 30.

Did it happen??

No. It didn't. But now in my mid 30's I have come to learn and understand pretty well that things don't always turn out the way you plan.
And like me, I know you have written a lot of plans too that if all things go as planned this year, you will want to execute them and push yourself to be successful too.
Thanks to the dreadful COVID-19 virus, everything in the world today has almost come to a standstill. And it's looking like your dreams and goals have hit the rocks too. But this is what I want to tell you; don't give up!!!!!
Yes, you, don't you dare give up.
Trouble times don't last always and so will your problems.

I may not be close to achieving my billionaire dreams yet. But I tell you, I will achieve that mark and spread my infectious hook to catch as many people as I can with it so they can grow too.

When Thomas Edison, the great and famous American Industrialist was asked how he invented the light bulb??
He told this to the journalists who were gathered around him, " I found a 1000 and 1 ways to make another light bulb." Then he smiled at them and went back inside his factory.
The story of Thomas Edison and how he invented the light bulb was something interesting. He had burnt his factory many times when he began experimenting with his invention. Friends and family had told him to give up many times but he didn't listen. He just kept on doing and redoing, doing and redoing again and again a 1000 times until he tried again for the last time and got  it right finally.
Today with the help of a switch, you can turn a light bulb on to have light in your room to be able to see in the dark.
If this inventor never gave up and made it through to see his dream alive, so can you.
So henceforth, if you should turn the lights on in your room, remember one thing, the inventor, Thomas Edison never gave up on his dreams. And that's why the light is shinning so bright in your room.
This life is full of twist and turns, today you are up, tomorrow you are down and vice versa. If adversity and trouble should fall on you, don't drown yourself in self pity and wallow in unecessary sadness, let life keep throwing you its best and hard punches. If it realises you are still standing after many bruises and injuries with a big try me smile on your face, it will finally leave you alone.
Why??? Because it was only testing you to see your resolve and toughness for what you asking for in advance.
COVID-19, Corona virus has got nothing on you. So do not be scared. Decide and remain firm and resolute that although this year started badly but no matter how long it's going to last, I'm not going to end my dreams. As long as I live, I will achieve this dream.  Say this to yourself in defiance to adversity.
Like in my proverbial local Twi language about the porcupine, "if you kill a 1000 of us today, a 1000 shall emerge tomorrow and fight you again and again until there is victory.
So be like the porcupine or like the defiant and stubborn Mexican boxers who never give up fighting in the ring after many bloody bruses and cuts, don't give up too.

Life again is a journey of twist and turns. Don't expect it to be fair to you. Because it will not.
But if you have got a defiant spirit like that of the Mexican boxers and the porcupine, you will have your dreams coming through for you just at the right time.
I have come to appreciate this life in many ways than necessary. These lessons have given me wisdom and a template to reinvent myself if need be. I hope it does the same for you.
And this is probably why I will never stop writing to you to encourage you.

Everything Is Temporary

Corona Virus has proved that everything around us is so temporary. Things that our lives revolved around...work, gym, malls, movies and other social activities have all gone for a toss. These were things which used to occupy our time and attention virtually everyday, so much that we neglected what was most important to us in the first place. We are learning to live without them now, as our only option these days, is to stay indoors to keep ourselves safe. It is teaching us all  one thing,  that in the end, our home and families really matter. They are our point of safety in difficult times like these. So should this crisis come to an end, which will be very soon,   do know where your priorities lie henceforth. It is not in your work, or your insatiable ambitions. It is with your family. Looking for Mr. Right And Mrs. Right

Any man who  tolerates all your nonsense as a woman and still finds you  perfect in his own eyes is your Mr. Right Likewise, any woman who tolerates all your stupidity as a man, and yet is able to submit under your authority as a man and love you is the Mrs. Right. No man or woman will check out all your boxes of being perfect or not a perfect match. Understand this one truth!!!! Here's a little revelation for us all to understand; there can be no decent woman or man just for only you. There are millions of decent people out there, just that they may not be that stunning model of a woman you're looking for or the man with six packs with a full beard. The moment you think of yourself too important to be in a different league than any other person just because you are wearing some designer dresses and suits and so you start rejecting suitors who you think are beneath your overrated standards, remember quickly that we all have our flaws. To help you reflect on this better, ...

An Attitude Of Gratitude

To have an attitude of gratitude is the greatest virtue anyone  can have. Because it shows that you are content with the little you have and a happy expectation of all you are yet to have and enjoy in life. If you really want your life to change, then you need to add the habit of  gratitude. I realised that our generation of today take the power of being grateful for granted. Because we are a generation that is burnt on having more and more everyday, we quickly lose sight of the important things we already have that is keeping our life afloat at this moment. It's almost as if each one of us is in competition with one another when it's not supposed to be so. I was born with a disability from birth, an advanced form of poliomyelitis. I had twisted hands and legs as a child so I was only able to crawl on the floor. That was my only way to move. I hated that and myself so much because I wanted to walk just like everybody else. I was consumed so much by hate and ingratitude ...
