Can I ask you a question....??
What does love and passion mean to you??
Many of us imagine love and passion to be that strong affection you have for someone or something because you attracted to it. That is Infatuation or Lust. It is never love. Not even close to it.
I define or measure love with the level of consistency to do the things you plan to do.
Passion on the other hand, is the energy that drives the love for the things you do. Everybody has something he or she wishes to change especially in this lockdown period.
You have written so many things you want to do, once the virus passes and the lockdown period is over. For some of you, you want to to begin a new life as a mother or father to your kids at home. You started teaching them how to pray in the morning when they wake up, how to lay their own bed and brush their teeth. For your older children, you've started teaching them how to be responsible with their time and money.
But it's looking like all your efforts are not working out for you just the way you planned it. But do not give up. Rather, have a consistency pattern to what you are already doing with your children. Continue the same way with love and understanding, and in no time, your children will grow very well into what you are trying to teach them. You need love and passion to carry this through successfully. Children learn from what we do as adults not from what we say. If your love for them to be responsible children cannot match your passion or desire to do the work, you will fail. Start teaching them little by little everyday, be consistent with it and build a great level of affection for it, you will finally get the result you are after.
As a husband, you are used to living home early in the morning for work. Your children don't even see until weekends. You always wish you had free time to bond with your children and your wife. The Corona lockdown period has presented a perfect opportunity to do such. Bond and spend quality time with your family as much as you can.
Your work on your laptop and your former busy schedules cannot take the place of your family. Even though you are working from home, make each time count for something with your family. Especially your children. Make it consistent and regular as much as you can. You will not be far from winning the father of the year in their eyes. I can promise you that.
Wives and mothers please do same.
Why is this excercise important???
Because it's the everyday routine you apply to the small things you do that makes your plans and goals work. And not how beautifully you have written them. And certainly not how you have been inspired to do them. To have inspiration is great, which is what I'm always giving you with what I write. But you need love and passion to carry this through.
No one can do that for you except you yourself.
Don't think I am writing this only for mothers and fathers or parents. I am writing this for everybody. Young and old. To have a deeper look at ourselves and work on ourselves to improve. I'm not a magician, I may not know what exactly your plans and goals are. But I know there's something you really want to do or change about your life for the better.
Stop wishing it and do something about it.
Work for it, in a small but regular waywhatever it is you want to do.
Start small, build your love and passion for it everyday and in no time, you will see that you will get the results you have always been looking for.
Rome wasn't built in a day. A brick by brick each day brought up Rome and made into the mighty Roman empire you know.
