The Power In Unconventional Wisdom

I loved watching the Game of Thrones movie series. Even though the show ended many months ago in 2019, I still binge watch it every chance I get on my free weekends.

Perhaps I'm in love with the show more because of one character, Thyrion Lanister, played by the British actor, Peter Dinklage.
Thyrion was the son of Thywin of the House Lanister. Brother to Jamie and Cersei, his sister.
His father hated him so much because he had caused the death of his beloved wife, while giving birth to him. On top of that, he was born  an imp (short man) not as tall as the men in his family like his father had hoped for. So he couldn't stand the sight of him even though he was his son. He really hated him.
But Thyrion never did let any of that hate from his father and sister get to him. He took on the hate and learnt from it. He read a lot and had conversations with matured people in Kings Landing both poor and rich, young and old just to understand their views on life, family, history and culture. For instance, he will have sex with many whores (prostitutes) in Kings Landing and in conversations with them, learn that they were not just prostitutes but spies for their master, Little Finger whom they all worked for. Thyrion would also learn that the prostitutes used sex, charm and beauty as a tool to gain information from all the great men in all of the Seven Kingdoms so that he, Little Finger can have a political power over all the lords and nobles in the Seven Kingdoms. And he knew how well to control and manipulate these great men too because he also knew all their weaknesses too. Thanks to his sexy, beautiful but cunning prostitute workers. Thyrion learnt everything from negotiation skills to how to be ruthless and cunning with his enemies. By Season 6 of the show, he was known all over the seven kingdoms as the wisest man. He even became the hand of Daenerys, the mother of dragons and the Khaleesi of the Dothraki people. He went on to become a king maker in the end choosing Bran Stark, the one - eyed raven as the final and true king on the iron throne all over the seven kingdoms.
Thyrion's wisdom was unconventional because it had no specific plan or method  of learning to it. He had decided to learn from everything and anyone who could offer him a good or bad lesson in life. He did not underestimate anybody neither did he consider himself too smart or intelligent to always learn something new.

As people, we often view everything glittery and shiny to the eyes as beautiful, every learned person from say Harvard University as intelligent or brainy, every loud person as outspoken and every quiet person as shy and timid. We perceive that every beautiful woman will make a good wife, every tall handsome man will make a good husband. And every child from a poor home is respectful and courteous.
The question is.... What if we are/ were wrong???

If only we could learn to think a little different from everybody else, look at things and issues from different perspective than we normally do. Appreciate people's opinions and learn from them instead of fighting them to prove our opinions right instead of theirs. Just because we are far more educated or maybe because we feel we speak good english.
Do not forget God used the birth of Jesus for instance, to confound (outsmart) the wisdom and the wise people of this world by putting baby Jesus in a manger (place for sheep) and not in a five star upper room in Bethlehem. Jesus cannot be the son of an ordinary carpenter and a naive virgin from Nazareth and be able to heal the sick and talk the wisdom of God. It cannot be possible.

Even  till this day,  many people don't value the salvation message of Jesus Christ or believe in it  because they still think this way. God's message is delivered and made complete because of the  Unconventional wisdom strategy he used. Too ordinary to be seen as sophisticated, too simple to be considered the truth.
Jesus said "Whoever considers himself to be the greatest among people should first be the smallest"

Never ever underestimate greatness in any shape or form  if you wish to be wise, because great things come in small packages.
Men in suit appear very successful until you find out they work for men in jeans. The difference here is in the vision not in the dress code.

You cannot judge a person's maturity level by how old he is or by the number of grey hairs he has but by the number of challenges and he has overcome and the experiences he has learnt from.

How are you learning from your failures and success in life? Hope you are humble enough to learn something from them.
Do not underestimate anyone or any situation.

A word to the wise!

Your Competition

Just remember, your competition isn't other people Your competition is; Your procrastination to getting important things done Your ego, that makes you think you are above everyone else Your unhealthy eating habits and health choices The knowledge you neglect because you think you know it all or because you think others don't have an opinion on a matter because they are not intelligent The negative mindset and behaviour you're nurturing because because you think you are not worth something Your lack of Creativity. Failing to explore new ideas or try new things because you think you will fail or not succeed again. You're not in competition with anyone but yourself. The  Inconvenient  Truth

We hate the truth so much today. We hate hearing about it and hate  it even more when it is coming from other people who we feel are not close to us. We are quick to swallow and lend our ears  to any lie that flatters us but find it hard, almost impossible to live with the truth because it may appear bitter to us. Meanwhile, it would have been much better for us and our lives to live knowing the truth and painfully taking the long path to do the right thing than to take a shortcut or a detour of many deadly pleasures just to do wrong. No matter how hard or  harsh, it may sound for you to hear the truth or receive it, if it is going to put your life in the right direction, please listen and listen good. Stay away from people who will hail you at every turn, people who find everything and anything you do to be nothing but good. Because none is perfect, we all have our good and bad sides. It is impossible for you to always have a good side all the time even if you fake i...

Change Your Words Change Your Life

Our brain while listening to words uses two separate areas to identify the mood and the real meaning of the words. Words are passed to the left temporal lobe of the brain for processing, and intonation is channelled to the right side of the brain, a region more stimulated by music. Do not speak negatively about yourself, not even as a joke. You know why?? Because your brain and body doesn't know the difference. Words have energy and they cast spells on your body. Change the way you speak to yourself, change the way you speak about your life. What you are not changing in your life with positivity, you are actually choosing it to remain the same. How do you change negative words?? *Speak to Yourself* It directly influences how you experience things in life. Our words play an important part in shaping our existence, so if your internal self-talk is negative, your external experiences will most likely be negative as well. *Start with a small shift* Replace just one word th...
