Legacy: From A Father To His Son

What values are we teaching and leaving behind forour children??

What example are we showing to our children as parents?

What kind of people do we hope our children will become in the future?

During the early days of the mafia era in America, there was one lawyer who defended the mafia dons and their people so well and so good in court that none of the dons nor their people ever went to jail. His name was Easy Eddie. One of Easy Eddie's famous client was Al Capone (Scarface).
For his good service the mafia gave Easy Eddie enormous amounts of money from time to time so he can be extremely rich and live a comfortable life.  One day as he was holding his little son and taking him on a stroll, Easy E thought to himself...."I've given my only son the best things money can buy. He will not lack anything in his life. But what will be the legacy I am leaving behind for him? He said.
They continued walking for a while and he lifted his son up and looked straight into his eyes and said "I will give a legacy of a good father, an example he will be very proud of when he grows up."
A few months later, there was a wide prosecution of the mafia in America by the government. Easy E, once a trusted ally of the Mafia volunteerd and testified against the Mafia. His testimony as a star witness of the government helped put a lot of the mafia dons in jail across America. But he knew full well that he would pay a heavy price for what he has done. For the mafia won't let him go scot-free without any revenge. But he was very happy he did that. He had done exactly as he had promised for his son's sake he would do. "To give my son a legacy of a good father he can be proud of
One afternoon, as he was driving, another car in a top speed came across his car. A few men got out from the car and sprayed bullets all over Easy Eddie's body and left him dead lying on the street in cold blood.
A one-time famous crooked lawyer for the Mafia had died not just for any reason but to prove to his little son that he can be a good father that he his son can be proud of when he grows up to here of him. He paid a heavy price just to make a legacy for his little son.
The interesting part of this whole story is that his son grew up and became an Air marshal for the US army planes. When Japan attacked America during World War II, Butch O'Hare the son of Easy Eddie single handedly fought several Japanese airplanes in the air and brought down four others. Because of his bravery, the other fighter planes ran off because they were so afraid of his daredevil bravery. Easy Eddie through his son, Butch O'Hare had saved the whole country of America. Butch later was awarded The Congressional Medal Award, the highest award in America by the president. Butch O'Hare died a national hero.
The O'Hare International Airport in Chicago in America  is named after Easy Eddie's son, Butch O'Hare. One man's sudden brave sacrifice to be a good father for his son, made his son into a national hero. Every year the people of Chicago honour Butch O'Hare and his father Easy Eddie for their bravery saved America.

You and I work so hard everyday from 9 to 5 even sometimes without rest. Because we want to make more money to feed our family. We have no time for our wives, children and other families because we are consumed blindly with the notion of "Success" and making more money so we can later enjoy our lives. But what legacy are we leaving for our children who will carry forth our mantle into the future when one day we are no more here on earth.
Easy Eddie paid a heavy price so that his son, Butch O'Hare can become a national hero.
What about you and me. What are we also doing today?

The purpose of Hardwork or Sacrifice

Why do we work so hard or sacrifice so much for something?? What does hardwork or sacrifice mean to us?? What are we expecting to get in return from our hardwork or sacrifice?? Is it all worth it at the end?? We all have come to believe and understand for many years now that it pays to work hard. Many of us have different reasons why we work hard or sacrifice so much. For majority of us, we work hard every day so we can have a lot of money to do or get whatever we wish or desire for. But the real purpose of our hardwork should not be about money but should be focused on value and impact I believe. Think of these great people who have made their mark in the history of our world..... Jesus, Mohammed, Solomon, Mahatma Gandhi, Bill Gates,  Michael Jackson, Steve Jobs, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama among a few. What did all these great men and many more like them have in common? Value and Impact. Not the desire to make money. They had a greater purp...

USA And The Western World is Against Polygamy.. Our Ghana Law is Against LGBT Rights. Will They Allow To Set Up a Polygamy Office In Their Country??

On June 26 2015, the US supreme court struck down all state laws banning same - sex marriages and legalised in all the fifty states across America. I remember that day, pretty well watching CNN seeing then host taking the live feed Anderson Cooper in a jubilant mood. Pictures from the supreme court also painted the same picture. Men kissing men passionately, and women kissing women passionately and locking tongues as well. All this outside the US supreme court for the whole country and the whole world to see that the United States of America, the greatest free country on earth is now fully endorsing gay marriage and approving LGBT rights. The gay pride parade was insane, trust me. A few months later, some European Union countries also joined in and legalised it unanimously. I could recall on that evening I called up one of my Brazilian friends, a woman who had always been a strong advocate and a strong supporter of LGBT rights to pick her mind on what had just happened in the US. ...

The Paradox of Our Times

*THE PARADOX OF OUR TIMES* Is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers Wider freeways and roads but smaller viewpoints We spend more, but we have less. We have bigger houses, but smaller families More conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees, but less sense More knowledge, but less judgement More experts, but more problems More medicines, but less healthy lives We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too little and hate too often We have learnt how to make a living, but not how to make a life. We have added years to life, but not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back But have trouble crossing the street to meet or greet the new neighbour. We have conquered outer space, but not our inner hearts We've cleaned up the air in our environment  but destroyed our souls. We claim to love all people but quick to show our prejudice We've higher incomes, but lower morals. We'v...
